" A presidential candidate who unites us in that cause would be elected in a rockslide. "

Keep dreaming.

But I have to ask -- would you vote for Barrack Obama if he pursued that course?

No other change in the Democratic Platform, i.e., they're still after your wallet for their pet projects and creeping Socialism -- but add your Constitutional Amendment to outlaw pornography? Would you vote Democrat?

Curious.

Now that Fabius Cunctator has so eloquently told us about all the causal links between pornography, sexual addiction, and crime --

I wonder if he could explain why, in the face of all this horrible, disgusting, explosion of pornography, the national trends for violent and sexual crimes have been going --

DOWN.

"If you could tell us one slight thing beneficial in your wanking, or one sensible thing about exhibitionism, vice, meat-market sex; just one benefit to society, why don't you, tell it! All you spout is; 'We want it!'"

That "we want it" is the ONLY "beneficial" thing necessary. Who the hell are YOU to say that we CAN'T have what we want for no other reason than we want it?

We do NOT...

"What are you "right" about?"

Try reading what I write.

"I'm right. You aren't proving anything I say is wrong."

But I've given you evidence that you can easily look up to see that what I say is true. Whereas, you have ... what? Bozell? Heh.

All he can do is kvetch and whine.

"You lie right off the bat; complaining opposition only means we need to control."

That's not a lie -- that is obvious on the face of it. What do you want to call it, if not control?

"Who wouldn't try to control a barrage of sh!t staining every corner of our land?"

Uh -- the people who are ENJOYING it?

"Nobody dares to try bringing it down. And the only reason is morons like you feed...

Yes, I have "only" in my opinion, backed up by actual facts. Facts that are completely accessible to anybody to takes a little effort to look them up.

I know you won't bother looking these up anywhere, and I wouldn't encourage you to do so. Popping your little dream world might damage remains of your self-esteem.

But I'll give you a couple of undeniable facts:

One: you repeatedly call me names which proves to me that you have run out of rational arguments. Indeed, I don't think you even had the first one, which explains why you began calling me names right at the very beginning.

Two: since all you can do is insult me and threaten me only reinforces my knowlege and certainty that I am right.

There's an...

You contradict your own words, if you believe that there should be no regulation against pornography.

You are as hypocritical as the conservatives on this board. You want the same kind of Big Government with a leash on everyone. You just want to be the one holding the leash.

You should have lunch with "dreadnaught" sometime and discuss strategy. Then wait until *after* you have achieved total domination over the words and deeds of your fellow man to decide which of you gets the control what can be said or done.

That's a danged good point about presidents. I never thought of it that way.

The best politician we could hope to vote for would be one who promises not to screw things up. We rarely get one like that.

My wife will say, "Oh, I just don't feel like going in to work today."

So I'll say, well DON'T. What are they gonna do, FIRE you? Tell them you've been out drinking with Patty (that's the lady who rarely shows up, but is still drawing pay).

But alas, she is too duty-bound, poor darling.

Never let it be said that everyone in the public school system is a slacker. Some are very hard-working, worth a lot more than the paltry few dollars they get. Much of the system could actually *work* if only it would operate like a private system, where under-performers can be removed.

Probably the only way that will ever happen to actually make it all private.

It's not just New York.

I'm in California. My wife has a co-worker who is perpetually drunk and shows up about once or twice per month. This has been going on for at least four or five years.

Then there was an article recently in the Los Angeles Times about how hard it is to get rid of teachers (and public employees in general), which was picked up and discussed by a local talk radio show. It is literally to the point where the administrators sometimes don't even bother. Hey, they're paid the same no matter what. Why should they break their backs to get rid of deadwood?

Teachers Unions all over the country have a stranglehold on education. The public school system is never going to improve while they still exercise...
