Mr. President:
Recently I’ve seen in the papers and on television that the Social Security COLA for this year, and perhaps for several years to come, will not be forth coming because we currently have a negative inflation rate. I find this hard to believe as I go to the grocery store frequently. I also see where you have proposed a tax free $250 bonus in lieu of a cost-of-living adjustment, Congressional Democrats are all for it, and the Republican leadership sounds agreeable.
I view this as a cynical and blatant attempt to buy my approval, my support and my vote with my money; I am sure many other seniors feel the same. For my...
