The first thing they (Republicans and fellow travelers such as you) should do is dial back the rhetoric. Calling someone an idiot, imbecile, or other unnecessarily insulting name does not get the discussion rolling.

Does Obama need to do a better job interacting with his Congressional foes? Yes.

Does constantly vilifying him encourage such interaction? No.

eric-tuttle isn't in Congress. The question was about "elected" republicans. Tuttle is just voicing a opinion and I doubt that Obama is reading this. If you know of any "elected" republicans who have publically called Obama and idiot or imbecile you might have a point, but since they haven't, your comment is irrelevant.

Here’s an excerpt from a letter I received the other day from a college professor:
