reid and obama have no desire to reach a deal. If the real objective was to settle this, it would be done. The real objective, however, is to destroy the Republican party. obama has already set the groundwork and the lapdog press is running with it.

Reid came out publicly and said he wouldn't consider it if it passed, even though it gave the D'bags (Democrats) a chance to put their money where their mouths are with raising taxes on a million and up; but that's not what the D'bags want to do; they want to tax the lower brackets down and out into their welfare dependency for votes program.

Why would the Republicans vote for a plan that Reid said was dead on arrival?

UPDATE: Senator Harry Reid appeared on the floor of the Senate this evening announcing that there would be no vote tonight. He said that they will reconvene Monday morning at 11am. “There’s still significant distance between the two sides, but negotiations continue,” Reid said. “There’s still time left to reach an agreement, and we intend to continue negotiations.” With only one day left of the year, it is looking like a very slim chance the two sides can come together to reach a fiscal cliff deal.

UPDATE: Republicans have taken the CPI off the table in an effort to help negotiations....
