A Free Market Brings Down Health Costs

Leftists trot out rare situations (Tiny Tim from the Christmas Carol; Ann Romney; etc.) hoping to guilt-trip gullible voters into supporting socialized medicine for the benefit of the "overwhelming number" with "diseases given to them by God". Truth is a huge and ever-increasing portion of medical expense in the USA does indeed come from lifestyle choices, not from "God": smoking, drinking, drug abuse, obesity (1/3 of Americans), etc.. Socialized medicine (e.g. Obamacare) requires responsible, prudent citizens to subsidize degenerate lifestyles that are constantly increasing the cost of medical care in this country.

Making Life Fair

An excellent article here, but like so many others who address the "Fairness" issue, John stops short of addressing the variables that account for the wide variations in wealth in a free society. The Left wants us to believe that all of those at the bottom of the income distribution are there "through no fault of their own" (bad luck, genetic handicaps, loftier goals, etc.). Why won't conservatives and libertarians address the 800-pound gorillas in the room: sloth, envy, greed (demanding wealth you didn't earn)? While Steve Jobs and Bill Gates were working late into the night to build computers and software, legions of the future down-and-outers were bar-hopping with intermediate stops to compete for most dazzling tattoos and piercings.

Our Energy Future

How large will the enormous green "renewable" bubble grow before it bursts catastrophically, just like the housing bubble? Polls show that the public is slowly waking up to the fact that "Climate Change" hysteria is the result of scientific fraud and opportunistic corporations spreading scare stories to enable their fleecing of taxpayers and consumers for financial gain. Soon this realization will reach a tipping point and those huge "investments" in windmills, solar panels, ethanol, carbon-credit trading schemes, etc. will crash as their government-supported lifelines are cut. When the smart money yells "Sell" and heads for the lifeboats, there won't be nearly enough to go around.
Nice form - hope it works!
While it is possible for a law or court ruling to nullify a previously-established law (whether it’s “discriminatory” or not), it cannot leave the old law in place but with new definitions.
Aggressive lobbyists for same-sex marriage appear to think they can pass a law, or get a court ruling, saying that everywhere, throughout our vast accumulation of legal documents (laws, regulations, contracts; federal, state, local, and private), the definition of the term “marriage” shall now be changed to include same-sex partnerships, contrary to the traditional heterosexual definition that prevailed and was used by those who initially approved the documents. Many of these documents would not have been approved at all, or would have been written very differently, if the signatories had been presented with this new-age definition. The very idea of retroactively altering the meaning of legal documents is beyond Orwellian -- simply bizarre.

Obama's Gas-Powered War on Coal

truthBtold Wrote: May 12, 2012 3:22 PM
Chesapeake and the other small-thinking natural gas suppliers will soon be sorry that they threw one of their natural allies - coal - under the bus in a frenzy for short-term profit boost at coal's expense. When the last nail is driven into the coal industry's coffin, the environmentalist-government coalition will turn against the gas industry as the new carbon-spewing villain to be sacrificed to the "climate-change" hoax. Defending against the vicious Big Green juggernaut you need all the allies you can get, even if they are competitors.

Soon this realization will reach a tipping point and those huge "investments" in windmills, solar panels, etc. will become worthless as their government-funded lifelines are cut.
