A Victory for Demagoguery

... They play to the Left and even nominated a candidate where Conservativism was a second language and came across as a pretender. If the GOP wants to win. If we want a Constitutional government that is fiscally sound we need to start wooing the libertarians and make them full fledged members of the party. It may mean the end of the GOP and the need to start a Tea Party ...

How is it that people that supported Ron Paul seem to not like the Tea-Party Guys???? They have the most in common. Especially pertaining to the financial side of things. Are the paulbots so intelectually impotent that they fall for the same lefty demagogery that was used to attack Ron Paul? And dont blame the GOP, they always fall for the libtard bait and repeat lies from the left-of-center-left media; you CAN'T blame them if you fall for the same crud... Start writing the apology letter to your kids right now, it will be a long list..

could have won easily. People pi ssed off that ron paul (who i admire) was not their rep cost us the election. Period. They were but hurt little kids about the whole thing and stayed home with their fingers in their ears screaming "i can't hear you!!! LaLALalalalalala!" GROW UP. THESE THINGS HAVE CONSEQUENCES! It harkens to the actions of a petulant child who upon realizing they will not get their way ruins it for the others... If people who are supposedly smarter than the Obamunists, fellons, race biased politics, and hate-baiting fear mongers can let this country fall to the "Government is my Daddy and Santa all-in-one" crowd then we deserve EXACTLY what we have done to ourselves. Its truly sad. And how is it that people who

the libertarian morons need to wake up and realize we get stiffed by the repubs all the time but they are better than the alternative... It is pragmatic to vote for 60 % of what you want rather than not vote, thus tacitly voting for 100% of what you DON'T want. Instead they get all but hurt and wine about their candidate. You dont get to vote for your representative very often, but you do get to vote for a philosophy. Just cause your philosophy does not have the representative you want does not mean that you shouldnt vote for your philosophy and then blame some wack-a-doodle conspiracy theory. People in power try to protect that power even with an R in front of their name. Wake up!!! have some team spirit and stick together and we

All true. I would add, however, that the GOP establishment has done exactly as much for (or perhaps to) the social conservatives as it has done for (or to) the fiscal conservatives and libertarians. The libertarians, with some honorable exceptions, are upset at being stiffed by the GOP, but fine with stiffing the social conservatives. None of this is a recipe for anything good.

I'm in the camp that believes Republicans have no choice but to agree to raise taxes on the top 2 percent of earners. The party has been successfully caricatured as the servant of the rich. This is unjust, yes, but justice is imperfect in this life. It's political suicide for Republicans to stand fast on maintaining current rates for high earners even at the cost of raising taxes for everyone else. Imagine if we went over the fiscal cliff. In January, Obama would call upon Congress to pass a law restoring the tax rates for 98 percent of filers. What could...
