Israel, a tiny, industrious country surrounded by Middle Age enemies who worship death. They made a little oasis in the barren landscape and also have outstanding medical facilities. Some of the world's best physicians (incl. the one who saved my life here in the U.S.) have trained in Tel Aviv. There is much value and intelligence in Israel. Can the same be said of their neighbors ? While some feel gratefulness and admiration; others are capable of only envy. Those who cannot create destroy.

That's all fine, Trude3, but I always like to point out, that, even if the Jews did not "make the desert bloom", lead the world in technological advancements, or provide disaster relief for countries all over the world, it would still be the ancestral homeland of the Jewish Nation. Their success is wonderful, but not in itself a justification for their existence.
