Time to set some of you Townhallers straight. First, not everyone who works for the federal guvmint is a deadbeat, lowlife, union dues-paying scumbag. Many of us work 50+ hours a week with no overtime. We do it because we believe in our mission. Many of us work in jobs that directly impact the warfighter: we fix military aircraft, engines, and many of the components that keep tankers, bombers and fighters in the air and safe for the dedicated men and women who fly them. Many of us didn't vote for the wannabe sitting in the White House, we can't stand the very sight of him. We pay our taxes, support the Constitution, vote Conservative, and love God and country. You're not getting an apology from me for the salary I EARN. Quit your whining.

You would be a rarity in the government workforce. The norm as my wife would tell you is that her state job co-workers are a lazy bunch of parasites, more than happy to sit by the hour at work and socialize. In fact, she has been verbally reprimanded for NOT socializing.

I guess she can thank the employees' union for THAT.

Bingo.... She never was forced to join. The others are devout union members who hate, loathe, and despise Wi. governor Walker for not taking union dues out of their pay checks. They have to send them in themselves.

Didn't WI go 'Right To Work' under Walker? If so, good for you! We've been RTW for several years now and our state economy is doing very well compared to our union owned and operated neighbor. It's good to see that people are beginning to wake up to the fallacy of unions. You can definitely tell a union sheep from a non-union worker. All the union sheep wear their 'local' shirts to work on Fridays. It's quite comical to watch! I don't know who they think they're impressing. Poor poor sheep in search of a shepherd.

No, it is not quite RTW. What did happen was that government unions are allowed to negotiate wages only and not benefits. Government employees are no longer required to join, and the other major part was that the unions lost the mandatory dues with holding. Members have to authorize the state to with hold for them.

The House of Representatives today will vote to freeze the pay of federal employees, which would extend a policy that President Obama wants to put to an end. Obama is seeking a pay increase for federal workers.

The GOP-led House is expected to pass the bill on Friday, but it's likely to receive a cold reception in the Democratic-controlled Senate.

Budget hawks, in supporting the freeze, say the average federal worker compensation, including benefits, is nearly double the median U.S. household income. They point to a 2012 Congressional Budget Office study showing that, while...
