A presidential candidate, who does not know me, who would not recognize me if he saw me, who has never met me, necessarily does not care about me personally. If he says he does, that is, as far as I an concerned, a clear indication that he is trying to sell me a line and a reason for me to be LESS inclined to vote for him.
