Polls can be designed to get the result that the payer wishes. There is no way the majority of NRA members think they should have to go through an FFL to gift their kin with a gun. Therefore, there is no way I believe anything you say -- including the part about being an NRA member.

Hey, I'm an NRA member, myself and I know majority of NRA members believe that anyone who wants to buy a gun needs to submit to a background check. There's been polling on this. I'm all for the White House and Congress doing whatever it can to keep criminals and mentally ill from getting guns. Leave the law abiding alone. If you are a parent and want to transfer a gun to your son or daughter, it would take a little bit of gas and about 15-25 bucks to process that transfer. It takes about 5 minutes to fill out the paper work and for the FFL dealer to call in the background check. I don't see how banning private sales is in any way forfeiting our right to defend ourselves.
