The Republican party is just a tool to save the nation, and if if fails, it should be discarded as a broken tool. I refuse to root for Republicans if they are complicit in our downfall because they lack the courage of their convictions. When the stakes are this high, and the time is so short, it's OK to lose an election. In fact, it's irresponsible not to lose.

It's hard for a lot of people, particularly on the right, to recognize that the conservative movement's problems are mostly problems of success. The Republican Party's problems are much more recognizable as the problems of failure, including the failure to recognize the limits of that movement's success.
