You are right about one thing. The school, the STATE, as you call it, is in control. The state/government run schools are an embarrassment for their failure to actually educate our kids. I could care less about school dances and other friviolities. I am more concerned with the lousy education our kids are receiving. And THAT is a form of child abuse. It's a national disgrace precisely because the government runs the schools.

Me too. That's their only legitimate job, imo. And they're failing in many school districts. Educators will never solve the problem unless we force them.
