Gingrich and Perry turned to scorched earth mode in the primary by attacking Romney's work at Bain Capital. At the time, I could not believe these so-called "pro-business" conservatives were willing to give the Democrats what would be their principal, phony arguments to use against the nominee in the general election. When you're counting up the reasons for Romney's loss, don't forget this one. I still cannot believe that Gingrich and Perry did this.
