Sorry Joe, I beg to Differ, The War of Northern Aggression was not only about slavery, but economics. The Northern States were choking the Southern States with tariffs and taxes. I will admit the slavery issue was part of it, but why did the Emancipation Proclaimation only free slaves in the south? It was still allowed in the North until the 13th amendment was enacted. U.S. Grant had slaves even after the war.

The troubling thing to me, in my opinion, is that Obama hasnot misread anything. He knows what the people are saying, how they feel, what they want. He just DOES NOT CARE. He is using his office like he was a totalitarian ruler and it's his way or the highway. To quote Judge Smails from Caddyshack "The Man's a Menace"

Why does he get a pass? Every President we've had in my living memory, way back to Eisenhower by the way, it has been VERY evident what their religion was simply by their actions. Can you say that about Obama? Obviously not the majority of people. When asked if he was Muslin his answer was not Yes or No. When asked if he is Christian or Atheist or Pagan or Satanic I'd expect the same type of answer. But I will say he he is closer to Muslim than Christian, by my observation of his actions.

Excellent article Mr. Williams. I see the strategy of keeping the Tea Party/Conservative moment on it's heels defending itself against allegations instead of the real issues. Unfortunately, your observation on this issue by the NAACP is what a lot of us have seen for quite a few years. I have always felt that because I'm white and Southern, I would be judged as racist just from that. The NAACP as a viable organization has gone away, much as the term Racism has and become meaningless
