Get the Government Out of Sex Ed

I have to say that I agree with part of this post.. the government should not be funding Planned Parenthood groups which offer abortion. However, I must disagree with much of what was said about the statistics. I work in HIV Education, and we are seeing a steady rise in HIV infections among teens (along with most every other STD known). It is for that reason that we are pushing for comprehensive sex ed. The funny thing about statistics is that they can be manipulated. When talking about the failure rates for condom use, this post refers to the demographic groups. Why do you think it is that teens in low-income areas are more prone to condom failure? For one, they haven't been properly educated on the CORRECT way to use a condom. ...
