Corbett, You once again miss the point entirely. You prevent war by detering it. Standing by and allowing evil prevail is not compatible with peace. Communism slaughtered over 100 million people, mostly their own. Left unchecked, the USSR would have conquered Europe. The USA keep the peace by meeting the challenge.

Wilson was a Liberal Progressive who wanted to remake the world in his image. Peace during the Cold War was impossible with the USSR and China constantly formenting wars of communist agression and suppression.

The US military is indeed the most efficient of government endeavers because it has to be in order to survive, literally survive. Not so with all other government programs. As for warefare being "the biggest, most destructive of all", duh, what was your first clue. War is an abomination. It is horrible. But, as long as evil people will resort to violence for evil purposes (and Islamic fascism is evil), then I very much want the US to have the badest, meanest military on the planet. I want to soundly defeat all who threaten us. Even better, I wish to deter all our foes from even thinking about attacking us. If you think the US military is expensive and destructive, try to imagine loosing a war to radical Islam, or communist dictators.

The stuff Fox News shows is tame by comparison to what's available on the internet spoken by the Iranian mullahs themselves in Farsi to their own people. Check it out yourself.

Mr. Corbett, Israel's neighbors are not concerning about Israel launching wars of conquest to dominate the Middle East; Iran's neighbor do worry a great deal, and rightly so, about Iran launching wars of regional conquest and dominance. You're living in a bubble of your own wishes. Wake up to reality.

Evidence? Just listen to the hundreds of times the Iranians brag about getting close to getting nukes. As for evidence for the CIA, what do you think Obama was talking about when his staff leaked (bragged) about the Stuxnet cyberwar worm setting back Iran's nuclear weapons efforts. Obviously, Obama thinks Iran is building nukes and I'm pretty sure Obama doesn't get his talking points from Fox News.

Raliass, just what balance are you talking about? How will Iraq, Kuwait, Dubai, Quater, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, etc. "balance" a nuke armed Iran?

Raliass, are those the same American intelligence geniuses who declare back in 2007? that Iran had abandoned its nuke program?

Joboy, whereas I share your opinion that Chapman's position is imbecilic, I have to agree with Jim1050, calling him names does nothing. Far better to destroy Chapman's misguided logic than hurl dirt bombs.
