Kelo was a case of the state not doing what it ought to do in preserving liberty at the local level. The Fed had no right to interfere, illegal "incorporation" of the 14th Amendment be d---d! If the citizens of Connecticut want to give up their property, that's their business as long as they maintain a representative form of government. The decision on the 2nd Amendment was correct in D.C. since Congress has control there. In Illinois, however, the Federal government, again, has no right to interfere if the citizens there do not want to be as free as many of the other states are. The same central government that may happen to agree with natural law in this specific instance may not in another instance, like, say the Roe v. Wade...
