There are two reasons why Barack Obama has been the most brazen liar in the history of lying that has taken place in Washington, D.C. First, he is protected by a media that, quite literally, is so in bed with him that the media itself risks being a failure if Obama fails. Therefore, there is nothing he can say or do that will be properly criticized by most of the press. Second, because Obama is a black man, he knows that criticism of him will be muted. For the most part, other blacks (Sowell aside) won't criticize him and will even endorse his madness (can you hear me Colin Powell?) and white guilt prevents many prominant politicians and pundits from truly calling Obama out as he deserves. Obama knows this and he capitalizes on it.

Hit it on the head, Cappmann. I'm tired of reading and hearing about how Obama is favored by most of the country. The only reason this is even remotely the case is because his actions and words have been covered up by the media. He's been protected from the time he arrived on the scene back in 2007. The Benghazi disaster and cover-up alone would have unseated any sitting president. Heck, the economy would have brought down any president up for reelection.

Do Gun Control Laws Control Guns?

I think there should be strict gun control laws as soon as the government can guarantee that every crack dealer, dope head, drug smuggler, reprobate, bank robber and the government itself no longer possesses weapons of any kind. As soon as they do that, I'll give up my guns.

Absolutely true, Paul. I have an older aunt who, unfortunately, happens to be a huge racist. She simply does not like black people and is open about this hatred. It really is embarrassing to even be with her in public, and I avoid it at all cost. Yet, she is a loyal Democrat and she voted for B.O. twice. So her own racism is actually eclipsed by party loyalty. LMAO. I happen to think there are a lot of loyal Democrats who are also racists, yet the media and Dems have convinced everyone this hatred is only on the right.

Yes, the real underlying point is that "the rich" are not necessarily doing anything illegal with their money when they avoid taxes; they are merely doing what anyone would do in the same situation. The problem with liberals and their orthodoxy is that they think it works in a vacume, as if their decisions have no bearing on behavior. I remember when they slapped a "luxury tax" of 10% on all "luxury" goods back in the early 90s, so "the rich" had to pay a premium on jewelry, furs, high end cars, etc. Well, all of those markets went into the toilet and people lost jobs and the government actually lost tax revenue from it. The fools who came up with the idea were shocked. They still haven't learned a thing.

On the contrary, it is a liberal argument that tax rates impact the economy just as much as a conservative one. I have endlessly heard how tax rates were higher under the Clinton regime, and the economy was better, so we should therefore return to the tax rates of those years. It is not conservatives who are putting out this argument, it is people on the left. The assumption is that higher tax rates somehow magically produce a better economy. No real economist believes this. There were other conditions going on back then that simply do not exist today--from international competition to changes in the workforce and population.

Is Demography Destiny?

tommy159 Wrote: Nov 15, 2012 9:05 AM
I think there is far more at play here than mere demographics. The media impact is underestimated. Sure, we have "alternative media" now, but millions of voters do not turn to these sources for information. If we had a truly fair media in this country, Obama would be toast. His errors have been covered up and his transgressions ignored even while we continue to hear that the economic malaise is still Bush's fault. In truth, the economic collapse had little to do with GW Bush's policies, yet almost half of the country believes Bush is at fault (even now). Where do you think this idea comes from? The media (and Dems) have pounded it into the head of ignorant masses that conservative economic policies got us into this mess and we...

"Worst educated states" You're not much for grammar, are you? You can split hairs all you want; however, inner cities across the country are largely comprised of people who are uneducated. There are high rates of illiteracy and general hopelessnes. These cities vote almost exclusively for Democrats. Romney got about 6,000 votes in the city of Detroit, that's it. What do you think the average IQ and education level is of the rest of that city? If it weren't for th uneducated, Democrats would lose every national election.
