I don't suppose anyone noticed that these arab springs are always sprung after the Friday afternoon prayers and progress directly from the mosques? Do you suppose it might have something to do with what the Imams (who are no doubt in cahoots with the muslim brotherhood) are instilling in the congregates? Anyone that believes these demonstrations are pro-democracy, and that the Islamic middle-east will soon be free, are living in a fantasy world. This is an orchestrated plan to create a caliphate from Iran to Morocco with the intentions of spreading and expanding where ever possible. Why do you thing Iran and Osama support it. The two greatest impediments are Saudi and Israel. Israel for obvious reasons. The Saudi royal family realize...

Islamic "scholars." There's an oxymoron for ya!
Don't waste your time battling with you own self conscience, just take my word for it; YOUR WRONG!
"The only good economic systems are hunting/gathering and herding when humans lived in bands..." Well, I'm all for it; can we still keep our WI-FI?
"It does not hurt that Turkey now exists as a model for a Democratic Islamic state." Yeh! If your muslim. Ask the non-muslims if it's a model for Democracy.
"It is religious conservatives who believe..." I find it amazing that YOU seem to know what everyone else thinks or believes. Do you have some sort of supernatural powers?
Well I certainly couldn't accuse you of making a broad sweeping generalization of an entire population exceeding 200 million people. Are you God, or did you do your own in depth independent study?
The religion is all encompassing, it dictates what foot to use when you exit or enter a building, it dictates how you should wipe your own a**. You're required to pray 5 times a day, regardless if you believe or not; if you don't show, you're a infidel, and must be killed for you're disrespect for Mohammed. When a society operates that way, you're best to go with the flow, and don't ask questions if you want to live to see tomorrow. We, in the west haven't experienced this, but our ruling elite have made it their prime objective to make sure the we do. They believe that Islam is the ultimate control mechanism for the NEW WORLD ORDER. As long as they are pulling the reigns, they will be isolated from the mayhem below, while they kiss...
You're right!
