Bill Kristol: Tea Partiers Won't Mind More Taxes

Back at ya -- Why do you hate those making over $250K? Raising taxes on them won't close the budget hole and will likely result in less money than expected coming in tot he Treasury and an overall loss in jobs. Look at California's death-spiral of increasing taxes, yet increasing budget gaps. The problem is not income, but spending. You could tax the so-called "rich" 100% of their income and liberals would bemoan that what they could do if they only had 101%.

You won't move to that group if they have to fire you to pay their taxes.

It will also result in more spending. There has never been a time when increasing taxes hasn't resulted in increased spending. Also, increasing the top marginal rate on high earners will result in less revenue.

The democraps need to learn the difference between tax rates and revenue.

And pray tell, why would you believe the White House OMB site's information? Has it EVER been accurate? Even in showing historical data, it takes an advanced degree in Accounting just to burrow through all the BS to find the truth, if that's even possible. I'll stick to sources OUTSIDE the government, if that's okay with you... or even if it's not.

Whoops! You need the link....

Goodness, according to the link below, if you drill down a little, you discover that of the $901 billion deficit, $771 of it is Welfare and Healthcare for Welfare recipients.... Okay, I'll make you a deal - Cut out all of THIS waste, and I'll make up the difference in Defense spending, Social Security, and Medicare.

I know I'm going to regret this but...

Illuminati, please explain why you want to "address" two programs that working people have paid into all their lives, and the only other "spending program" outlined in the Constitution. Why are you not stating that we need to "address" Welfare, food stamps, and unemployment beyond 6 months? The automatic slide from unemployment benefits to disability benefits? The huge "government dependency" issue we have today?

"What needs to be addressed is Social Security, Medicare, and Defense.
"

Correct, Illuminati. It cannot be addressed with One Progressive Party (with two wings) though.

Bill Kristol just doesn't get the Tea Party and apparently, doesn't understand the Obama tax hike proposal on those making more than $250,000 per year. Last week, Kristol said "it wouldn't kill the country" if we raised taxes on millionaires and yesterday on Fox News Sunday, he said the Tea Party wouldn't mind a tax increase on millionaires, either.

Kristol: A lot of the Tea Party guys don’t care too much if a few millionaires pay couple percent more in taxes, honestly.
