'Common Core': Corruption and Correction

tjohn Wrote: Jun 15, 2013 1:02 AM
From what I have encountered in life, most education college students are never going to be good teachers. I went through both public and private schools and the teacher makes the difference. I'm homeschooling grand children and have met some fabulous teachers teaching their own children. I was really surprised at how many teachers' families homeschool.
The great problem is how incredibly ignorant the general population and those they elect are about where everything they have comes from. In a way, the students at Colorado School of Mines used to have right when they sold bumper stickers saying, "Ban Mining, Let the Bastards Freeze to Death in the Dark!" Want a blank stare? Tell the next banning environmentalist to go live under a brush bower and dig roots with a stick.

The Cheapest Things You Can Buy at Costco

tjohn Wrote: May 25, 2013 8:43 AM
COSTCO can be a savings but it is limited by the huge percentage of junk foods, including the organically grown junk foods (food fads anyone?). The basic food items are severely restricted in variety to, I assume, make room for the junk food. The worst is canned vegetables; peas, green beans, corn, occasionally asparagus. It is not much better in fresh foods. The real advantage is buying in bulk (hoarding, as per the federal moron's interpretation) if one has a long drive (50+ miles) to the store, saving gasoline. I have wondered why it is called COSTCO when the chicken store would be a better fit. Does COSTCO own most of the chicken farms in the US?
We elect big govey pols because we are far too ignorant and the lame stream media is too busy being arrogant to really research the pols. I've worked with the French around the world and they are well aware that mindless political correctness is destroying Europe. Unfortunately they don't realize the same is true here.

Youth Unemployment Results from Libs

I agree with most of what you say but I have a question. In this day and age, who can afford a suit and where would they wear it beyond a job interview? There are a lot of high end jobs not where suits are absurd. There has to be a better solution than an adaptation for cool European climates. This doesn't mean one shouldn't show up neat, clean and well pressed.

The Pros and Cons of Amnesty

Living on the border one soon becomes aware to the influence discussions of amnesty have on the flow into this country by undocumented tourists. Right now, contrary to that broken down ex-governor, the valves are wide open. Wondering about John McCain? No problem, BPD.
I would be curious about how much of that 5.4 trillion is fraud, but that has nothing to do with eliminating these programs. There is nothing more demoralizing than welfare. In the past many counties ran "poor houses". I've done a lot of genealogy research and census records are interesting in regards to "poor houses". It has been rare to find the same names 10 years later.
It was that Middle of the Road (AKA Road Kill) attitude that drove so many voters to not vote last year. 1st big bank bailout giveaway, are you a terrorist because you can disappear, Medicare meds, No Chil'en left behind, etc. What else do you need?

Get Your Money Out While You Can

I don't think I want to be a politician or banker removing Russian money for the corrupt EU. There will always be a shadow waiting for them where ever they go on this planet.
