Has anyone ever bought a Rolex for $40 at the corner of Broadway and 42nd Street in NYC? Or maybe a Louie Vuitton handbag in Seoul, Korea, for $25? If you bought either one, you display them as the real thing even though you know the items are fakes. Anyone with a sharp eye can tell the difference. However, the possessors of the fake luxury goods want to impress the world and deny what they really are. So, it is the same with same-sex marriage which does not match the definition of marriage between a man and a woman, which mankind has recognized from the beginning of history. No culture, no religion, no pagan society, no person of common sense can say same-sex marriage is natural and consistent with the natural order of creating a family. i

Actually there have been documented societies in both Africa and the Americas that allowed marriage between men or, more commonly, between women for a variety of cultural reasons.

This week, the full 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals refused to hear any more arguments on gay marriage.

Appellate Judge Diarmuid O'Scannlain's dissent was scathing: "Based on a two-judge majority's gross misapplication of Romer v. Evans, we have now declared that animus must have been the only conceivable motivation for a sovereign state to have remained committed to a definition of marriage that has existed for millennia," he said. Worse, the judge went on, the decision overrules the votes of 7 million Californians based on an interpretation of Romer v. Evans that would be "unrecognizable" to those who wrote it.
