Decreasing the white noise is essential. Without values everything would be noise.
I hope they raise a fortune and the scouts learn a valuable lesson about capitalism.

Have They No Shame?

I agreed with everything right up to the point about cigarettes. The civilized world has not banned cigarette smoking, that would be the uncivilized world with it's unholy desire for perfection; albeit, not moral perfection. The civilized among us do not have to resort to lies nor make up "studies" in order to bully others into complying with an enlightened opinion.

The Death of Depth

It is like tasting real maple syrup for the first time when you have been raised on Mrs. Butterworth's. The "real thing" for far too many is Mrs. Butterworth's. They prefer it and I agree that they have no reference point from which to base their judgment.
You have missed the point. A gun-free zone is an invitation to trouble. Those who wish to murder are going to take the easy road and do not choose to go after the local police station. The root cause is societies broken moral compass. I seriously doubt the person was a regular church attendee. People used to kill themselves not everyone they could take along with them. The debate over guns is a side-show. Guns do not kill. The moral inadequacies of those who have access to guns is the issue.
Do not envious of their temporary success. Those who embrace systemic weakness (moral and economic) undo themselves. "By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established;" Proverbs 24:3

Love, Death and Dinesh D’Souza

Hypocrisy is setting low standards for ones self and higher ones for others. At no time does D’Souza say a failed marriage is an acceptable goal. Please stop using the term hypocrisy. You are a hypocrite, by your own definition, if you ever failed to meet a standard. The term has become meaningless.

The Marijuana Rebellion

I have been listening to this same old worn out argument since the 70's. The legalization of alcohol is known. The legalization of pot is not. Children will not be able to legally by the drug so they will be the new target for illegal sales. There will be no reduction in crime and any economic benefit will be absorbed by the increased demand for government assistance in getting off of marijuana. Children will not benefit from parents who are high. There is no upside except for those who are already smoke pot and would like to make it legal and cheaper.
Our allies should respect us and our enemies should fear us.
That is a short term solution to a long term problem.
