Jeff Thanks, you get it. The Founders are often denigrated but rarely imitated. Belief in Constitutional ideals keeps government out of our lives and thus is socially liberal. It also limits the power of government and thus is fiscally conservative. The Constitution is not an antiquated document. It was prescient words that opened a future of liberty for all. There were major bumps along the way. It is up to us to keep the dreams of OUR Fathers alive. (Yep. the father thing is a dig at you know who)

But whatever specific name you go by, Bob, you know who you are. You're the sort of person who says to his conservative friends or co-workers something like, "I would totally vote for Republicans if they could just give up on these crazy social issues."
