Is there higher crime and murder rates in northern or southern states? Is there higher crime and murder rates in cities where Democrats or Republicans have been in control? Is there higher crime and murder rates in cities with large minority populations? Large illegal alien populations? How many mass shootings have occurred in gun-free zones vs places where guns may be lawfully carried? Can answering these questions identify where the higher murder rates occur that you claim exist within this country? Are there a lower murder rates in countries where individual liberty is curtailed? You ask one question to arrive at a predetermined answer. I ask many questions to find out what the answers are.

You should consult the works of John R. Lott and Gary Kleck. They give excellent statistical information. You can also look at FBI crime stats online. The FBI stats are not as easy to read as they once were but they give the answers you are seeking.

Instead of asking nebulous questions that are loaded with implications, take a look at some data:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_cities_by_crime_rate

Lots of northern, southern, mid-west and western states show high violent crime rates. Sorry but i couldn't break it down by "Democrat-controlled" or race, as conservatives are wont to do.

Senator Ted Cruz wonders: If gun control works, why are the cities with the most gun control so violent? Watch and learn.
