You do realize the major tenet of right to work laws stipulate that corporations and whole economic sectors can no longer make union membership and/or dues a requisite for employment. Give me one good god damn reason why compelled union membership should be allowed as a condition of employment.

Because unions have to give share benefits with non-union members in the same shop that are not required to contribute. The effort is to bankrupt unions so that corporations can repress wages.

The vote to turn Michigan into a right-to-work state will take place today after days of protests in Lansing about the pro-worker legislation that prevents having to pay dues to a union. Not surprisingly, local police are bracing for possible violence today as more protests are planned.
