I understand their need to believe there is a god in control of everything, but there just isn't any evidence of one.
Jealous and proud of it? Exodus 20:5 'Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;" Petty? Ordering a person tortured to death because they picked up sticks on a Saturday seems petty to me, covers control freak as well, vindictive, too. When the US government starts having the death penalty for worshiping the wrong god, let us know. Not blood thirsty? Didn't he order blood sacrifices? And the first part of the quote said the god of the OT, so no Jesus involved.
Science is a field of study and discovery, of course it's going to change. How could it not?
There is no reason to believe the teacher thought Jews were evil.
My point exactly. Day and night by verse 5. But no sun.
No, science does not support the Genesis account. Genesis says day and night existed before there was a sun. So, we can dismiss it before we even get to verse 6.
Again, we see a con's post. No argument, just screaming "liberal".
What passage did Gustav post?
"Doesn't vegatiation exist miles below the ocean where there's no sunlight? " Could be, but the sun exists. Without it, the earth would be around 4 Kelvin, and the plants would die.
Don't need a whole book. By the time we get to Genesis 1:6, we read that day and night existed, but no sun existed. Dismissed.
As an atheist, I will admit I don't know exactly how life, the universe and everything began. BUT I do know they didn't begin the way the Bible claims they did!
