There are those with such desires that would argue with you. I would be interested in watching that argument. I expect before all is said and done, there will be many such arguments, and it promises to be exciting.
I went to a Jesuit school of theology, and I do know that many are very liberal, but I think most would recognize important distinctions like the one between helping someone and saying their behavior is not wrong.

I did not need more reason to vote this November, but this gives it to me anyway.
I think the most important determinant of America's future will be individuals deciding that growing in virture is more important than immediate gratification.
There are two things for which I must thank President Obama: He got the Catholic bishops to unite on a public stance, and he got Notre Dame to realize, at least a bit, that Catholic social teaching is not coterminous with being a liberal democrat.

Religious freedom is essential, because if people don't look to an authority higher than human beings, the government will tend to make itself the ultimate authority, answerable to no one.

I think before we make progess on subjects like gay marriage, Christians have to do a better job teaching about God's plan of marriage and sexuality in a way that is inspiring and compelling. One of the big questions for November is: How many Americans believe that every problem has a government solution, and how many don't?
The biggest threat to the Church is not persecution from the outside, but mushy, lukewarm Christianity within.
