"In most states, there is a laundry list of requirements individuals must meet to receive a CCW permit." These are mostly illegal and the people enforcing them should go to jail. The Second Amendment says "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." What is unclear about that?

In my state, this is true. But what is not readily known is that anyone can open carry, no permit required. To carry concealed is when one requires a permit. In this case, the 2nd Amendment is not infringed.

However I agree, permits are the first step on a slippery slope. Registration requirements to possess a firearm does cross the line.

many states prohibit open carry, while requiring state permission( a permit) to carry concealed.

that is still a violation of "shall not be infringed".

Only Vermont,Alaska,Arizona, and Wyoming have it Constitutionally right.
NO permit needed, open or concealed carry.

We have to jump through multiple hoops to get a permit to exercise our Second Amendment rights, yet no permit is required to practice freedom of speech, religion, right to trial, etc.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Any required permit is an infringement of our rights under this amendment.

One student’s fight to allow concealed carry permit holders to exercise that right on campus has spread to over 350 colleges and universities nationwide.
