I am certain that if an examination were given to liberals to determine their (in)sanity, they would all be categorized as bi-polar/delusional. The author is dead-on when he remarks about the double standard and the Left's adamant denial of it. (The denial of truth is the very core of insanity, if not evil).
The author doesn't get it, and uses typical rhetoric like "None of us lives in isolation." Liberty is a double-edged sword. There are liberties that a person has a natural right to, that impact others negatively. That does not diminish the right, nor grant the government (or its people) the right to reduce liberty.

You cannot contort that expression to suit your agenda. The expression is: "Your right to swing your arm ends where the other fellows nose begins." So, you're "right" to demand for others get vaccinated (aka swinging your arm) does not trump my right to liberty. People on this site really need to learn about what rights/law actually mean.

This makes no sense. If you are vaccinated why is it a problem for someone who is not to go to a restaurant or school you attend? You see, you don't actually care or think at all about this issue. You just want control over others. You're like the lemmings who were told about the dangers of "dihydrogen monoxide" and demanded it's eradication. Jump Lemming, Jump! Good Lemming!

I am surprised by the author, and a bit disappointed. I am sorry Mr.Sowell, but the right to refuse to be medicated or to have your children medicated falls under the natural right to liberty as expressed by our Constitution.
Torturing logic much? What a complete load of BS you've written. My freedom from government intrusion (in this case, freedom from vaccination) is absolute. It cannot be contorted into a "freedom to spread diseases" argument to justify your agenda.
And this is why public education should not exist. Tell you what folks, if your opposed to this gay "education" then REMOVE your children. As long as you allow the government to control education, you'll children will be taught what they want -- not what you want.
Putting rhetoric aside... The simple truth is that our government was founded on PERSONAL FREEDOMS. Neither our government, NOR ITS PEOPLE, may mandate that a citizen subject themselves or their children to vaccination -- REGARDLESS of the reasons. If you fail to accept this, then you are not an advocate of liberty or of limited government. You are the phony who cries, "I am all about liberty!! Up to the line I draw that is."
