During the process of writing emails to Senators on this issue I learned that the Senate narrowly voted 54-45 on Nov. 5 to table an amendment sponsored by Senators Lindsey Graham and Joe Lieberman which would have blocked trials of all 9-11 terrorists in civilian courts. People, especially those with Democratic Senators, need to write them to get them to vote to reconsider this amendment or otherwise block these trials. All Republicans voted for it.

The Senate on Nov. 5 narrowly failed (54-45) to pass Sen. Lindsey Graham's amendment to block funding of trials of any 9/11 terrorists in civilian courts. Write your Democratic Senators (all Republicans, Sen. Lieberman and four Democrats voted for it) asking them to request reconsideration of the amendment.
Everyone who objects to civilian court trials of KSM and other Gitmo detainees needs to write their Congressman and Senators and insist that they go beyond mere verbal protests and pass an amendment prohibiting use of Justice Department funds for civilian court trials of Gitmo detainees.
