Wow, I'd like to see your view of the 2006 congress vis a vis their obligation not the be "cowed" by the President. How things change. I'm happy to say my bitter little friend that you're going to have a miserable next few years. The only one who thinks he's "King of the world" is king "hopey changey", and his next 2 years are about to take a turn for the worse that I predict will show him to be as bitter and ill informed as you.
Despite your blusstery self assured language, it's obvious you have no case (not unlike the president). If you kill the baker to take his bread to feed "poor families" (as this health care bill does to doctors) then "the poor" will have unlimited access to nothing. Look at the number of physicians that were running for office this election - unprecedented. Trust me, given the disposition of most physicians to politics in general, this speaks volumes about their realization of the absolute destructiveness of this health care bill.

Pretty funny article. Since it's (almost) all fiction, or more accurately satire, I'm hoping Mike comes out and reacts to the fallout from the posting.

I'd say it's more a veneration of Paul and Apollos to be so concerned about the origin of a doctrine instead of it's truthfullness as it relates to scripture, and serves the body of Christ. Paul could not have been saying never to listen to any other human teaching since at the time of his writing he was a human who was teaching Gods word.
"Sola Scriptura" does not mean the bible alone. Rather it means scripture as final arbiter of all truth. We are also however to take note of tradition and of the writings of wise interpreters of the word (as God has gifted them through history-...

I'm glad for the generally respectful tone of the comments, but there are a good number of distortions and outright falsehoods regarding what is best know as the "reformed" view of salvation. Said view does not hold that everything is "pre-determined from cradle to grave", but rather that God is totally sovereign, in all that He wills, and attempts to reconcile human freedom with God's sovereignty in as biblically faithful a way as possible. It's a difficult and complex discussion, but one which can be made with respect by Christian brothers (at least if they are willing to forgo name calling and straw-man arguments).
Just for the record, Calvin did not order anyone killed and his actions whatever they may have been have no...
