Cininnatus Redux, You suggestion is a very good one. But there is one little reason why I believe your suggestion will never be considered. Most executive and legislative branches in the states having severe financial problems do not have the leadership ability, intestinal fortitude, or discipline to make such a plan work. As long as someone is willing to buy bonds from those various states, it is so much easier to just grow the debt. I also believe that most politicians are more concerned about their re-election than they are about providing sound quality public service. Nothing but some type of outside controlling influence will ever made most states change their spending ways. I wish all States in financial trouble would...

Hawkeye, Your are so right. President Obama delivers speeches, he does not write them. If I access to all his speech writers, I could probably deliver a fairly decent speech, too. I could always end up watching a tennis match, too. Thanks

When I started reading you posting, I quickly realized that it was satire. I find satire is usually difficult to recognize when reading responses to opinion pieces like this Adams article. I find it best not to attempt satire. I rather enjoyed your posting. Thanks
