How is that police "chiefs" are for gun bans, but sheriffs (the only law enforcement office mentioned in the Constitution) say they will not allow confiscation to take place, and will, in fact, arrest any government person who attempts to confiscate weapons from law-abiding citizens?

As far as confiscation goes, they got to find them before they can take them!! They can't get them all at one time so if the word gets out about confiscation I expect millions of them will just disappear into thin air. I know mine will!!!

Probably because all of the Police "Chiefs" were hired/appointed by big city liberal govts, while all of the Sheriffs were elected by the people.

There are liberal sheriffs out there, elected in liberal counties. Rich Stanek of Hennepin County is a great example. That's the county wherein Minneapolis lies. The Sheriff from Ramsey County (St. Paul) isn't all that much better.

Nearly three weeks ago, Baltimore County Police Chief James Johnson testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee about what America can do to stop gun violence. During his testimony, he stressed the importance of the reinstatement of an assault weapons ban.

"The ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines must be reinstated. Like assault weapons, high-capacity magazines are not used for hunting, do not belong in our homes and wreak havoc in our communities," Johnson said.
