Jacoby argues government unions shouldn’t have the right to collectively bargain because they can use their money and votes to unduly sway their employers. Fair enough, but why is it OK to permit corporations spending large amounts of money to unduly sway the legislators who are charged with regulating their businesses? It’s like allowing restaurateurs to bribe their health inspectors to not see the rodents in the kitchen.

If a health inspecor accepts bribes, is it really the fault of a resturant owner? And if a resturant owner has rats in his kitchen and needs a health inspector to tell him to get rid of them, that resturant owner isn't going to be in business long anyway.

Why is it that you lefties think that without government, everything will fall apart?

Your basically opening the door to rampant corruption all fueled by money. With no regulation people will be continually held under the boot of their corporate overlords.

Like we don't have rampant corrution fueled by money now? Or is it just that leftist corruption is ok?

With no regulation people will be continually held under the boot of their corporate overlords.

But being under the boot of big government is ok? You use of the phrase "corporate overlords" reveals you ans just another leftist who hate free enterprise. If the consumer doesn't like the way a business works, he takes his dollars elsewhere. that is not an option with government.

Capitalism is fatally flawed as it must be fueled by human greed which only leads to the subjugation of your fellow man.

ROFLMAO! Look up the history of the USSR if you want to see "human greed which only leads to the subjugation of your fellow man".

Your arrogance is outweighed only by your stupidity.

Lefties will keep returning the the food covered in rat hairs. No! That isn't a bacon bit in your salad...

That's the mind set of why the inner cities are still in the same condition they are in after the Great Society stamped out poverty. T
That's why the cities are still controlled by the democrat machines.

Ok, BDW, you go to a restaurant and find that what you think are bacon bits are not bacon bits. DO you go back to that restaurant? Do you need government clearance in order to go back?

What is it with you people who think that conservatives want zero regulations? Why the all or nothing worldview?

In retrospect, there were two conspicuous giveaways that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker was headed for victory in last week's recall election.

One was that the Democrats' campaign against him wound up focusing on just about everything but Walker's law limiting collective bargaining rights for government workers. Sixteen months ago, the Capitol building in Madison was besieged by rioting protesters hell-bent on blocking the changes by any means necessary. Union members and their supporters, incandescent with rage, likened Walker to Adolf Hitler and cheered as Democratic lawmakers fled the state in a bid to force the legislature...
