The End Nears for a 50-Year Mistake

Jacoby argues government unions shouldn’t have the right to collectively bargain because they can use their money and votes to unduly sway their employers. Fair enough, but why is it OK to permit corporations spending large amounts of money to unduly sway the legislators who are charged with regulating their businesses? It’s like allowing restaurateurs to bribe their health inspectors to not see the rodents in the kitchen.
It’s because it’s difficult to determine an abortion seeker’s motive so they’d need to be interviewed by a qualified professional before they could have the abortion. Given the cuts in government services there would probably be a substantial wait time to schedule an appointment – probably about, say, nine months or so. Hey, wait a second!

Why don't we implement a biometric authentication system? They are inexpensive and reliable. This way, republican fears about voter fraud could be addressed along with democrats' concerns about unfair voting restrictions.
