There were no issues with the speech. However, the uproar was actually caused by the media. I am one of those right-wing conservatives and I would not have wanted my children watching the speech but for my own reasons, not the ones the media gave. The media tends to paint all Republicans as far right. I am not dumb. I know the majority of Americans are less conservative than I am however, the media created this frenzy. I also would choose not to make a big deal about it and just went on my happy way. BTW, I don't care what color skin the president has so please don't call me a racist. I believe it is a sin to be racist. My objections to President Obama have nothing to do with his skin color and everything to do with his ideology.
I am sorry I didn't make myself clear. I DO care if Obama was registered as a foreign student. To me, that is why HIS college transcripts matter. I don't care, however, about what kind of grades he had. Sarah Palin IS a citizen and so therefore, I do not believe I need to see her college transcripts (even though she has already confessed to making at least one D). I was just saying that how smart a person is doesn't necessarily depend on the grades they made in college. I mean, truthfully, do we need to go down the list of people who either dropped out of school or never went to college but are considered geniuses. (Albert Einstein comes to mind.)
I am so tired of hearing about college transcripts or high school grades. I don't believe a person is done growing educationally speaking after college is done. You are 18-21 when you are in college, chances are you probably were concentrating on other things also. I believe that you can be a lifetime learner and it doesn't always have to involve schooling. You can read books, attend conferences, do some personal study or research, etc. The reason people want Obama's college stuff released is to see if he received some type of foreign aid. I personally don't care about if he made all A's, just like i don't care if Sarah Palin made all A's. I consider myself a well-educated person, but in college, I dealt with many other issues...

2012 is Obama's to win or lose. We can speculate all we want about Palin, but the truth is she should not enter the election unless Obama's numbers continue to tank. I like her but if Obama redeems himself, 2012 will be a throw-away for the GOP candidate, Palin or not.

The problem in NY was that there was no primary. There will be a primary here and hopefully, whoever wins that, people will get behind that candidate. There are always civil wars within both parties when there is a primary looming. Don't make this out to be more than it is this early in the game.

How about looking into how much money has been spent through government programs for the "War on Poverty." Has the impoverished section of our society really been helped? How much waste is in these government programs?
