It's worth something. Atheists have everything in the comfort the grieving arsenal except the afterlife speculation, which isn't always as welcome as you might think. The parents know what their beliefs are, and they might not be the same as yours.

Prager was only saying what an atheist would need to say to be consistent with their world view. Lack of internal consistency between claimed belief and what atheists would actually say by way of consolation was his point. Prager was not suggesting atheists must say his last paragraph just that it accurately sums up the atheistic world view and leaves them with nothing useful to say to the grieving. Well, I suppose they could say “I feel your pain” for what that is worth.

David........ Correct. Although Prager certainly does not claim that atheists actually DO act in that way, the fact that he would bring it up and attribute that "quote" to them, if they had the honesty of their convictions shows what a knob he can be.
