So, basically, the country is doomed if it doesn't subscribe to the same "invisible man in the sky" story that Prager believes...........and he then has the stones to describe the left as being emotion based and feelings based. Yeah, sure.

I'm not saying this for your benefit, since you are incorrigibly contemptuous, but for the readers. It is takes more irrationality to DISBELIEVE in God than to believe in him. Belief in God is the most rational thing a person can do. You are indeed emotion based, by a huge order of magnitude.

When one subscribes to one or another of the West's religious traditions, one is subscribing to 4 thousand years of trial and error, thought reflection on what works best for individuals, families, communities and tribes. You can call it natural law, revelation, or the rules and attitudes that constrain chaos in fruitful directions. You can try to figure it all out on your own or you can accept that tradition embodies wisdom and then attempt to figure out how it pertains to the present. Those who start from scratch don't have a very good record.

The reason you and other Liberals dis-like God is because He demands individual responsibility for each individual decision and/or act.

There is NOTHING that Liberals hate, detest and abhor more than responsibility for their own actions and decisions.

I am not a liberal, and do not dislike God. I just do not believe. I believe in personal responsibility, but not because God is telling me to do something.

WJF...........incorrect on many levels. First of all, I don't "dis-like" God......I simply doubt that he exists. (just as I don't "dis-like" Santa Claus). Secondly, any misgivings I have about his existence have NOTHING to do with the claim that he supposedly demands individual responsibility. I am 100% for people taking personal responsibility. And, one other thing, making a Prager-like blanket statement that libs dis-like God is not valid because there are MANY DEEPLY religious libs.
For some years now, we have been told about a major division within American conservatism: fiscal conservatives vs. social conservatives.

This division is hurting conservatism and hurting America -- because the survival of American values depends on both fiscal and social conservatism. Furthermore, the division is logically and morally untenable. A conservative conserves all American values, not just economic ones.

By "social conservatism," I am referring to the second and third components of what I call the American Trinity -- liberty, "In God We Trust" and "E Pluribus Unum."

It is worth noting that a similar bifurcation does not exist on the left. One...
