In response to:

Conscience, Not Guns

Do you REALLY believe that the average liberal living next door to the average conservative thinks that the conservaive neighbor would murder them "given the chance"?

You refer to the word "friends". Although less likely among friends, I submit that even there, the fear may exist. For example, just a couple of months ago, concealed carry came up in a conversation. I noted that concealed carry meant that some or all of the people in that office could be carrying a weapon. Fear was the immediate response. Visible fear. And, spoken fear. Over 100 people this person saw and spoke with every day .... Just saying that has been my experience over the decades. In all seriousness, I am very glad that has not been your experience.
The Original King Wrote: Dec 18, 2012 12:44 PM finish the point. I have a decent number of conservative friends and do NOT think for one second that they would want to kill me or anyone else. I also have a decent number of liberal friends and do not know of ANY of them that think that they are in ANY personal danger at all from conservative friends

bigdawg.....I was referring to your comment "they believe that you--you personally---would murder them given the chance". So, you say that, when you have specifically asked them if they thought that YOU could go on a killing spree (or, more specifically, murder THEM), they deny it. I would assume that, in your neighborhood or circle of friends, there is no shortage of good, "normal" should go down the entire list of them with the liberal friends/ neighbors you are referring they think John would want to kill them Bill? Allan? etc etc etc. I can pretty much assure you that, as long as the liberals friends are not mentally ill, they would NOT think that.

Pretty close. Over many years, I have had too many conversations with libs that indicate that is their mindset. It was pretty shocking the first few times that I heard it. Now, the key for them to speak to me is that they do not believe that I am one of those horrible conservatives. In my experience, many (maybe most) liberals have some very disturbing beliefs.
From the moment Americans learned of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre last Friday, the entire left -- editorialists, columnists, broadcasters, politicians -- used the occasion to promote one idea: gun control.

For the left, the primary reason for just about all American gun murders is the availability of guns.

I have no interest in debating gun control here. I only wish to ask the left one question: We have a massive system of drug control laws. Yet, the left is the first to argue that the war on drugs has been a failure. And whether or not one deems...
