The serious proposal from The Republicans, which you have seemed to overlook is called a budget. The Republicans in The House have passed one each year, including this one, as they are required by law to do. The Democrats in The Senate have refused to pass one for each of the last 3.5 years even though they are required to pass one ever year by law. This is a mess which The Democrats made through their dereliction of duty and previous policies. (By the way, Obama's proposed budget has not garnered a single vote in the Senate, which is controlled by his party, in the last two years; this is all the doing of The Democrats.)
