In response to:

To Appeal to Black Voters, GOP Must Run Gauntlet of Racism Accusations

I must admit Mr. Goldberg that you had me a little worried about your article's opening statement. If the GOP really wants to submerge itself completely into the political mud, then by all means, just pander to any and every ethnic group. What the GOP needs are leaders who can articulate the conservative ideals that make our country great in direct and truthful way. I'm absolutely tired of politicians and pundants (of all party affiliations) who treat blacks, hispanics and any other ethnicity like some kind of "special needs" constituency. Look folks, most Americans (which includes all ethnicities) want the same things: to have a job, be able to pay their bills and to be unhindered by the government or anyone else (just to name a few).

No, the term 'American citizens' or 'American residents' includes many ethnicities. The term 'American' as an ethnic designation, refers to the NW Europeans (narrowly, WASPs) who settled, built, and fought for American independence. And the further mistake is to believe that anybody tries to sell Leftism as anything but anti-white. I've never heard a Leftist claim that their policies were non-racist. They sell their programs as explicitly anti-white. That is the effect of affirmative action, contract set-asides, hate-crime laws, etc. The only remaining direction for an opposition party is, obviously, to adopt pro-white policies. But our 'elites' have already writen off whites as hopelessly evil.

I was only saying that "Americans" as we commonly know it, come in all shapes, sizes and colors. It was not the intent of my comment for any response to go the way of the high weeds. Actually, there was more to add but I had to break away for a while.

If the GOP wants to win more black votes, it will need to get a lot more "racist."

The scare quotes are necessary because I don't think the Republican Party is racist now (and, historically, the GOP has a lot less to answer for than the Democratic Party does).

But that hasn't stopped a lot of people from slandering Republicans as racist for one reason or another.

Right now, many in Washington -- particularly the leadership of the Congressional Black Caucus -- insist that Republican attacks on U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice are racist and, yawn, sexist. The basis...
