Each State elects two senators who are supposed to represent the voters of that state. Republican governors should insist they vote accordingly or face the consequences. 18 States allow recalls of senators...start those proceedings if the senator's votes are detrimental to the state's wellbeing. The others can demonize their rogue senators throughout the state and work to ensure they will not be re-elected through a continuous, local and negative media campaign against the senator the entire time they are in office.
Although Mitt Romney took flak for his statement that he lost the election because President Obama bestowed “gifts” on key parts of the electorate, what he said is basically true.
We’re stuck in a deadly spiral where economic growth is retarded because the economy is larded with enormous and ever-increasing government spending and debt. Yet, more and more Americans want the lard.
President Obama got re-elected by promising to continue to serve it up.
Romney’s failure, and the failure of the Republican Party, is not that Obama is pulling this off, but that they can’t get their act together to explain...
That is what many conservative organization are doing...the problem...no one is listening. WHY?
Do you mean that State Governors and their assemblies should begin to pass laws that restrict what the Federal Government can do to and for them? Are you saying that State have Constitutional rights they are not executing?
Will not happen, for currently the Federal Government has the States by the throat and Federal Courts are swayed and screwed by the Feds appointing Liberal Justices to the Federal benches.
Just because these Senators are elected by the People, doesn't mean there is no State control.
And if enough governors put their heads together, they can force a Constitutional Amendment repealing the 17th, and returning senatorial selection to the States.
