how is Keynesian economics repackaged 1700 economics? What are you referring to? nd what technocratic absurdities? The fact that conservatives have also grown government should be evidence enough that small government is impossible. But Cohen's error is not in stating the obvious but in accepting the frame in the first place. But I agree, Cohen is kind of a jerk.

Sounds suspicious to me...must only take in a single income rather than household?

Come on now newt is that the best you can do?

You seem to be in rare form today newt. First you get all offended that poor rmmcarthy posts his message of salvation and redemption for mankind via his faith, than you start attacking me.

Running off a man of God isn't exactly kind and godly newt, expecially concidering the fact that you've continually encouraged ole to keep up the good fight for his religious beliefs. This is a conservative site, and many here discuss their religious beliefs......but you know that right? I was also curious about rmmcarthy, but since reading his post today have concluded that he's harmless, and means well. Not so much your dear ole.

Wonder why that is newt. Must be an 'essence' things I guess.

You are making a vast mistake. 80% of the people who WORK for the country's biggest employer are kept at food stamp eligibility.

This isn't going to turn out well!

Those who work are quickly being out numbered by those who are taking.

You're smart enough to know......what's next RIGHT?

No one actually believes in small govt!

It is all talk and no walk.
On the last day of 2012, Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen inadvertently clarified two huge matters regarding the left.

The first was the ignorance about conservatives and conservatism that permeates the left. The second was the primary reason decent people identify with the left: the effective caricaturing and demonizing of the right. Were it not for caricature and demonization, most otherwise intelligent and decent people would not be on the left.

This is what Cohen wrote in his column, "Republicans Adrift:"

"It is conservatism that is both intellectually exhausted and nearly indefensible. It is the movement of the ideologically ossified,...
