Awesome: Usain Bolt Stop Interview During American National Anthem

Can someone please now tell our athletes that our National Anthem is not supposed to be a sing-along?

And if they didn't they would be called unpatriotic.

REALLY? Who told you that? They are AMERICAN citizens and if they want to sing the words, more power to them but then it's too embarrassing for the left. I bet there'd be no gripes if Barry had his way and changed the anthem to 'I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing". My gripe is having some professional entertainer try to sing it with their own little trills and flourishes instead of singing it as it is supposed to be sung. When they do that, it's not respecting the Flag and what it represents, it's all about 'Hey Look at MEEE" ego trips. One of the best versions I've seen/heard was a YouTube of
five little girls, 6, 7 and 8 years old at a College Basketball game..AWESOME. If those lil ones can sing it correctly and well, then

there is no reason the 'entertainers' can't.

Really? When did that PC nonsense start? It's our National Anthem! Of course, it's a "sing-along"! What greater moment is there for our best athletes to show respect and love for our country? On top of which, the pride and patriotism reflected on Sanya Ross-Richards face was just as awe-inspiring as the respect shown to another country's national anthem by a mega-sstar from another country, Jamaica's Usain Bolt. At a time when too much is becoming negatively politicized, these fine young people are true role models.

I was always told you were supposed to sing the Nathional Anthem when it was played. Alex Karras got a teammate on the Detroit Lions fined and censured for not singing!

It was a sing a long when I was in grade school. Maybe the athlete's parents and grandparents actually passed down some patriotism. Don't belittle them for trying. I'd rather see an attempt to sing the words than some jerk chewing bubble gum and popping bubbles all the way through it.

I love it when they "sing along". They know the words!!!
theerighthstuff Wrote: Aug 06, 2012 12:27 PM
Most of them don't, and look silly trying to do it!

At least it wasn't Rosanne Barr.

And you have a personal acquaintance with every American athlete around, Mr. RightStuff, and so know this to be a fact, and not just a cynical supposition?

I just threw up in my mouth... thanks for the lousy memory (I was there when she tried it).

I warned you all that I love the Olympics (maybe a little too much), but this is a story worth sharing. While American Sanya Richards-Ross was accepting the gold medal for winning the 400-meter dash, Usain Bolt, the amazingly fast Jamaican man who won the 100-meter dash, was giving an interview. And instead of continuing to talk over the Star-Spangled Banner, he turned around, pointed at the flag, and indicated to the reporter that he would like to watch in silence. Watch:
