I interviewed Grover Norquist for my Townhall blog on this very topic. It's at http://poker.blogtownhall.com/2010/07/20/a_candid_discussion_with_grover_norquist_on_big_government,_his_critics,_and_online_poker.thtml . I have a regular column on Big Government as well, at http://biggovernment.com/rmuny , where I go into this in more detail.
The party platform advocates a ban on online gaming, for one. This would be accompished by forcing banks to police the Internet. Another is big government television censorship for decency via the FCC. Bozo Bozell writes on that one weekly. There are plenty others.

Some conservatives think the poker issue doesn't matter, but Goode lost his seat in 2008 to Democrat Tom Perriello by only 727 votes (0.24% of over 316,000 votes cast). Others lost due to their poker positions as well. Would conservatism be better off will Goode in his old seat?

So, you see, poker does matter to conservatism. I hope everyone will keep this in mind and will tell the party to stop trying to censor the Internet. It can only lead to more electoral...
