But the even more insidious "metric" is the inflation index. Since they eliminated things like food and fuel costs from the "metric", you are having the smoke blown up your backside about "low inflation" numbers that "prove there is no inflation". Anytime that commodity prices are rising as fast as these are, there is horrid inflation and devaluing of the dollar worldwide. Wonder if they teach THAT is "political management"?

You make a great point. Any one that buys health care, food or energy and still believes there is no inflation should change their medication.

Could it be that so few of us buy any of these products or services that the facts are obscured, i.e., adjusted in government speak? I don’t think so.


Weekly claims for unemployment rose by 20,000 people last week.

That’s 362,000 workers who now don’t have jobs. And that’s 7,000 more out-of-work persons than economists had predicted- but don’t worry.

Everything is still great for Obama.
