Interesting comment! I seldom (really almost never) see anyone equating the major problems the U.S. had in Iraq to the stupidity of Foggy Bottom. It is obvious to anyone really paying attention, but if you were getting advice from Colon Powell and the "career diplomat types" in the State Department any common sense approaches were derided and thus dismissed. A real travesty because of all the lives it cost. Condoleeza (sp) Rice was no better and gave no better advice than Powell either. All of that said, both Powell and Rice were many orders of magnitude better than the total incompetents Obama had (and has) as Secretary of State. Our (the U.S.) foreign policy is currently in a complete shambles with no solutions in sight. All for naught?

Since so many are positing theories of the consulate attack on September 11th, how about this: The whole thing was a (Obama administration) planned September/October surprise. EXCEPT: Colin Powell had intelligence estimates from many (western) countries that supported his statements on Iraqi WMD's; AND: Susan Rice had similar intelligence from many countries supporting just the opposite of what her statements were on the cause being a "movie". Perhaps Mr. Romney could release more of his tax returns AFTER obama releases all of his "SEALED" records -- i.e., his college records, his college finances, all his birth data (I'm not necessarily a birther, but why hide it), information on how he acquired his SS number, his draft registration info, his passport info,etc., etc., etc. BaO is poison.
