"It is ridiculous that young people should be ridiculed for doing what they believe in, especially when it is the best option for healthy, happy living."

Ah, but it is VITAL that Young people be ridiculed for doing something OTHER than what THE GROUP sets as standard.
Only way for "The Group" to keep power, don't ya see. True Rebels are those who tell their CLASSMATES "forget you", which is something The Rebellious GROUP cannot permit if THEIR authority and power is to be maintained.

Whole Science behind advertising.
"Be a rebel--JUST LIKE US."

LuLu, I ain't bustn yo chops, but simply pointing out how we can get subtly shaped by culture. "Catch" CAN carry the freight of using one's sexuality to attract and ensnare.
Not the way I think you thought it, but consider the different freight of "what a blessing" he will be or "what a gift" or "what a husband and father" he will be, "what a leader".
See how that places the initiative in God's bringing together the couple and family to be, and takes it OFF our efforts to grab our own happiness--part of the underlying problem.

Renny--I LOVE the Bork Bama bit.
Yes, the Unholy Alliance of Media and Government has resulted in an out of Control Media, Government and significant portion of Society. One could argue it is a...

It's a long haul and none of em have "fallen in love" yet.

Couple comments and a question.

I was pretty much a social zero in High School in the late 60's (grad71), was part of a rather intense Christian Organization (The Navigators) in college (Va Tech 75) and really only faced genuine sexual temptation in my 20s. Still I had a fair amount of opportunities with various honeys to get laid.
And I managed to make it through un-copulated.
Seems to me at least part of the problem here is a downright lack of imagination on the part of the lust driven. Point is, it IS DOable, you just gotta decide your cost benefit analysis well in advance.

Which raises the question. WHY does that kind of THINK-ing seem so rare? ...
are you guys missing my point?

I don't give a Grand Coolie Dam what "The LAW" says. As Samuel Johnson once said: "If The Law says THAT, sir, than The Law is an yAss!"

I'm saying what a Man's Constitutional Right to Protection from Unreasonable Search and Seizure in this Constitutional Republic IS and what The LAW SHOULD REFLECT because THAT RIGHT is GOD ENDOWED and INALIENABLE!!!

What part of 'THE WHOLE PROBLEM IS THE INFRINGEMENT OF "THE LAW" ON MY GOD ENDOWED INALIENABLE RIGHTS' don't ya'll GET?

Yeah, the COP is ENFORCING "THE LAW"--so did the SS! So did the Gestapo. So did Sadam's Rape Room GOONS!

WHEN does the former cross over into the LATTER?? How are YOU going to KNOW?

I have SEEN, I've...
The Brit Guy with the glasses on Fox reported that Crowley's report claims the neighbor told him "two black men". In fact he suggested it would be a central question at Crowley's press conference, where, oddly enough, it was never brought up.
Now, since you guys claim more familiarity with Crowely's report than me, where DOES he say he was led to be looking for two black males?

tabs That’s sorta the POINT isn’t it? Why SHOULD I back off? Why should Gates have?
Yeah, Crowley had a report. HE ALSO HAD THE HOME OWNER! AS SOON as he had THAT his JOB was DONE and he had no further DUTY, RESPONSIBILITY or AUTHORITY IN or AT THAT HOME!!! ANYTHING and EVERYTHING subsequent to the producing of Valid ID at that address HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ORIGINAL REPORT! Its motivations and consequences are TOTALLY disconnected from ANY excuse.

oncemarine--Ok, that's not the impression I got from the news reports on Fox. On what basis do you say he did not? His report? From silence or did he state--"I remained ON THE PORCH"

As far as GATES "not letting it be" does not Crowley's report make reference to Gates...
As to the silence in Crowley’s report, you can bet your last dollar he knows exactly what to leave out to shape the conclusions and to avoid any hint of wrong doing or bent rules on his part.
You think they aren’t TRAINED to edit their reports for effect?
By the way, has the discrepancy between Crowley’s report claiming the neighbor told him “two black men” and her claim she said nothing been resolved yet?
“Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.” Just cause it ain’t in the report don’t mean it didn’t happen, does it.

no doubt, Crowley sprinkled "tumultuous" liberally through that report didn't he.

MY background and training is literary analysis and THAT usage tells me Crowely was manipulating the events to get his own back.
There's not a single reason anywhere in the report or the incident that he couldn't have simply walked away from in SILENCE.
And he SHOULDN'T have stepped into the foyer--he should not be allowed by LAW to step into the man's house UNLESS the man says SPECIFICALLY "I grant you permission to enter the FOYER, officer." If Gates was holding it up at a distance Crowley could have asked, "could you hand it to me here, sir?" OR he could have (and SHOULD have HAD to) said "May I step inside to see that, sir?--You do not...
I call it one for two.
You've hit something heretofore unacknowledged, that certain Racist Elements in the Black and Brown and Dusky (interesting that Mexicans are considered "white" for polling purposes) communities have gained an inexplicable sense of uber empowerment from the elevation of der Schwarzen Messiah.
Almost as if Barry getting over on Whitey is a vicarious getting over for all of Jerry Wright's congregation, Jesse Jackson's "people" and Whoopi's dear little friends.

I would suggest, however that this is simply a Macro version of what has historically been seen in any Black Administration from N'awlins to Detroit to (Marion) Barry's DC. Call it "brother" graft.
They do, however, seem to feel their racism...
I'm in the both category and encourage you to think it through.
That Gates is a Black Racist is not any more debatable than that der Schwarzen Fuehrer President Madoff is.

But I am equally in no doubt that your "one of honky's finest" was/is a Blue Shirt Gestapo.

He had no business following Gates into the house without REQUESTING EXPRESS CONSENT and RECEIVING IT--to hell with this "implied" sheite. As SOON as Gates produced a valid ID with the correct address Crowley had NO FURTHER VALID BUSINESS OR AUTHORITY IN THE MAN'S HOUSE and should have gotten the hell out without another word other than "Thank you, sorry to trouble you, sir."

That he let Gates' rant get to him is inappropriate in a Public Servant who...
