Obama is a mirror. He reflects back what he thinks the people want to hear. That will work if you're a local pol, a senator or a candidate for national office. As a president, it doesn't work so well. The problem is compounded by the press. They work diligently to spin whatever narrative will be most beneficial to Obama on any given day. Since Obama's a Muslim at the Iftar dinner and a Christian when addressing the broader public the next day, the press doesn't know which way to spin it. Same thing's happened for the past two years. He plays golf on Sundays, talks much more about the virtues of the Muslim world than the virtues of America, villifies conservatives, business leaders, Israel and media outlets that support traditional...

"Could Obama make the same statements about the federal government, as in,'I believe in the power of the federal government, but the federal government was never supposed to have a license to take whatever it can get however it can get it'"?

Why isn't there a single reporter who will ask Obama that question? Why do they constantly allow him to get away with such slanted rhetoric without holding him accountable or challenging his intent? They are a bunch of gutless weasels. The sooner the MSM goes bankrupt the better off we'll be as a country.

Good article. Any corporate exec too stupid to pick up on the Obama agenda got what they deserved. I hope the big banks, pharma, Wall Street, Insurance companies and the auto industry learned a valuable lesson. It's interesting to note that GE's shift to crony capitalism coincided with the increasingly poor quality of their consumer goods. I hope Immelt gets the same "bargain" that the other execs who took TARP received. It'd do him good to lose the huge pay package, especially since he's done nothing to earn it since 2001.
We're not so much baffled by the DC/Manhattan elites, we're just amazed at their lack of perspective, bigotry and colloquialism. Most are over the hill boomers still stuch in the glory days of 1968. They worship Kennedy, re-fight Viet Nam every time we go to war and speak truth to power (as long as it's not power they agree with). Most of them seem as if they've never ventured outside their upper east condo's, or outside of 495,yet they are all quite happy to tell us why we're wrong. MoDo's pronouncement that calling Obama a liar made Wilson a racist was rather bizare. WaPo writing endlessly about McConnell's college thesis and failing to catch either the ACORN or Van Jones story speaks volumes about their understanding of not only...

The Strange, Sad Death of Journalism

If the press is dying, it's because of their own lack of objectivity, creativity and objectivity. There may be fair, objective reporters in the news room, but they are the rare exception. The NYT who reported endlessly on secret CIA programs didn't want to expose the Climate Change Hoax because the emails were from an unauthorized source. They breathlessly reported a 10 yr old John McCain affair, reported by anonymous sources with an ax to grind, and then backed away totally from the Edwards fiasco. WaPo used their limited resources to dig up and endlessly report on a 20 year old college thesis by McConnell, but failed to report on Van Jones or the Acorn scandal. The AP used 11 reporters to fact check Palin's book. They didn't bother...

Why are liberals too stupid to see this is what awaits America if we continue on the same path as CA, MI, IL, NY and NJ? Why does the media promote such a sick paradigm? I guess it starts with college students too stupid to realize why their tuition is going up.
You cut to the essence of the problem with Rebuplicans. It's not what they promised, it's what they delivered that turned off so many people.

Thanks Ann,
It's refreshing to see someone unabashedly state and support the basic message of Christianity.

Your message is perfect for the times we are currently living through. I read B. Stephens article in WSJ on Our Incompetent Civiliazation. It made me wonder how we got to where we are and what we can do about it. I think your article answered the question about what we can do about it.

Besides, I'm sure you enraged thousands of liberals with your message. Not bad for one simple article.

Excellent article. You hit the mark on where the nation stands on Obama.

Don't hold your breath waiting for journalists to change though. They are sold out and too far out of touch to even see how disguting their behavior has been.

At least you're consistent Cupcake. 100% negative when the subject is Palin. Do us all a favor. Go away. Stop posting to Townhall. No one cares what you have to say and its generally not worth saying anyway.
